Abstract

The form of support in the family that exists because of the interaction between family members and complementing and fulfilling their life needs in dealing with various problems including anxiety or feelings of worry and anxiety about something that is unclear and uncertain and does not have a specific object that occurs in pre-patient. cesarean section surgery within the scope of family life. This study aims to determine the relationship of family support with the level of anxiety of preoperative sectio caesarean patients at Lamaddukkelleng Hospital. This research was conducted on 26 June - 20 July, this type of research is a quantitative study using a cross sectional study. Data were collected through a questionnaire. The sample in this study amounted to 19 people. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The independent variable in this study is family support, while the dependent variable in this study is the level of anxiety using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test.The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between family support and the level of anxiety in pre-caesarean section patients (p = 0.000 means α <0.05). Based on this analysis, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between family support and the level of anxiety in preoperative sectio caesarean patients. The research suggestion is that it is hoped that further researchers can carry out health education, provide motivation and support for family members in preoperative patients to reduce the patient's anxiety level.
