Abstract

Toilet training in children is basically a process of training and instilling a habit in children to urinate and defecate in their place, on the toilet. Toilet training is the beginning of a child's process towards independence, where children begin to learn to do small things on their own. The lack of success in toilet training for children cannot be separated from the parenting styles that parents apply to their children. Many factors affect the success of toilet training in children and what this study examines is parenting. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parenting and the success of toilet training for toddlers (2-3 years) in Ajallasse village, Cenrana district, Bone district. The design used in this study is descriptive analytic with a cross sectional study approach. Sampling in this study using total sampling method with a total sample of 36 people. The research instrument used was a questionnaire and the data were analyzed using the SPSS 21 program. Bivariate analysis obtained Asymp sing (2-sided) in ρ = 0.00 <α = 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a parenting pattern with the success of toilet training for toddlers (2-3 years) in the village of Ajallasse, Cenrana district, Bone district. There are suggestions for parents to pay more attention to their children and to be able to apply good and proper parenting to their children so that children are easier to control, such as in the case of toilet training
