Abstract

In Islam, the law of taking care of a corpse is fardhu kifayah, which means that Muslims are required to have knowledge and skills on how to bathe, shroud, pray, and bury a corpse. In this implementation, there is training that is in accordance with the provisions of Islamic law, therefore, this activity must be carried out so that every Muslim knows the procedures for organizing a corpse properly. Where the training for organizing this activity aims to increase and develop insight into organizing a corpse that must be continuously presented in the community, especially among young people in the Muhammadiyah Youth Movement. Rural communities in organizing a corpse still prioritize close family, namely children, mothers, fathers, nephews and the like. While people who live in urban areas do not consist of family elements as in villages, but rather mixed communities consisting of various tribes or ethnicities, thus affecting their lifestyles, such as in organizing a corpse. Organizing corpses in modern times has turned into a business. The hospital offers a paid package for the funeral services. This puts a burden on the family and loses the function of the family as the party most responsible for taking care of the corpse. Another problem is the lack of cadres in organizing funerals in Panakukkang sub-district. To anticipate the shortage of cadres, community service is carried out with the aim of providing knowledge and experience to residents in carrying out funerals.
