Abstract

Pregnant women are more likely to experience urinary tract infections, especially without symptoms of bacteriuria. Asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnant women increases the risk of premature labor and low birth weight. This counseling and health examination aims to enable pregnant women to better understand health care during pregnancy and can improve the quality of life and the baby they are carrying. Especially related to the prevalence of asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnant women. The target audience is pregnant women who live or reside in Kapita Village, Kecematan Bangkala, Jeneponto Regency. The venue was at the Kapita Village Hall, Kecematan Bangkala, Jeneponto Regency. The implementation time is on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 09.00 WITA until it is finished. The examination sample is a urine sample. In this activity, 27 urine samples were obtained from pregnant women who conducted urine examinations, with the most respondents 25 years old as many as 18 people (66.6%), and 14 people (51.9%) in trimester pregnancy. Bacteriuria examination of 27 urine samples showed that 0% were detected positive by nitrite test, and 74% were detected positive for leukocytes. The results of this screening obtained all samples with negative nitrite test results, and some showed positive leukocyte test.
