Edukasi Daur Ulang Sampah dan Digitalisasi Penjualan sebagai Strategi Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Warga Pesisir
Abstract
Boddia Village, located in a coastal area, faces a serious waste management problem due to the accumulation of unmanaged inorganic waste, which affects both environmental sustainability and local economic potential. This community service program aimed to provide education on waste recycling techniques and digital marketing training to empower residents and raise environmental awareness. A participatory and educative approach was employed, involving initial observation, interviews, and a one-day intensive training session with 30 local participants. Data were collected through participatory observation, pre-test and post-test questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of recycling practices and the use of digital platforms for marketing recycled products. Participants successfully created simple eco-friendly products, such as ecobricks and handicrafts, and began promoting them through social media platforms. This program demonstrates that environmental education combined with digital marketing training can be an effective and sustainable strategy for empowering coastal communities. It is recommended that similar initiatives be replicated and scaled up with continued mentoring to generate greater social and economic impact.
