The emergency unit is the first part of the hospital that patients and their families access to get fast, accurate and comprehensive initial care, especially in emergency situations. Therefore, patients who visit the emergency unit must be handled based on priority according to their response time. Handling is handled by personnel who are responsible for their respective roles. The role of nurses includes caregivers, client advocates, counselors, educators, collaborators, coordinators, and counselors. Emergencies usually occur suddenly and are difficult to predict when they will occur. For this reason, the Government requires every hospital to meet the needs of its patients, with patient satisfaction as the main strategy. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the role of nurses in response time and patient satisfaction in the emergency installation of Sandi Khalsa Hospital Makassar. The research design used an analytical research method with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisted of nurses, patients and patient families who played a role in response time. This study was analyzed using the chi-square test. The results of the study showed a relationship, namely a p-value of 0.000 (<α0.05), between the role of nurses in response time and patient satisfaction. This confirms that the role of nurses is very important in determining patient satisfaction. Nurses are expected to improve their role in response time in order to provide excellent service.
